After 29 Years, your Executive Officers, Office Staff and Clergy have determined that it is time to give this congregation a new name. We agree—it’s just too hard to spell or to pronounce Kehillat Chaim! And why should we care whether we say Kehillat or Kehillah?!
During our last staff meeting, we made a real effort to find a name that shows the true vision of the synagogue, but is much easier to pronounce. Some of our choices were:
- Beit Shoppe (maybe we could sell tackle in our gift shop)
- The Cool Shule
- B’nei Mitzvah Factory Outlet
- Kol Porter (anything goes!)
- 1st Reform Temple of Roswell
- Womb to Tomb Synagogue
- Aleph Garden (we could open our own “kosher style” Italian restaurant)
- Shang Chai (with our own Asian caterer)
- Tequila Chaim (anyone for Mexican?)
- BB Synagogue (since the name AA already has been taken)
- Temple Har-Vee (Har is Hebrew for mountain)
- Beit Margulis (obviously, my personal choice!)
Do you like any of the above choices? Do you have another idea? Please don’t tell us. We’re just having fun. It’s Purim! (Yes, that means we’re keeping our old name!)
Chag Purim Sameach (Happy Purim)!
Cantor Barbara Margulis
