Rabbi Harvey J. Winokur

Rabbi Harvy J. Winokurwas born in Brooklyn and grew up on Long Island and in Buffalo. He received his B.A. at the SUNY at Buffalo, and his M.A. and Ordination at the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Rabbi Winokur thinks of himself as a teacher. He feels that it is important to break down the distance between the pulpit and the pew. He believes in the importance of our Kehillah being non-judgemental and inclusive.

In addition to his full time responsibilities at the Kehillah, he has serviced on the Board of the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, The American Jewish Committee, The Interfaith Coalition of Metrolpolitan Atlanta and the Southeast Conference of Reform Rabbis.

Cantor Barbara G. Margulis

A native Atlantan, earned a Master of Music degree at the University of Maryland, and then continued her studies at the Hebrew Union College School of Sacred Music in New York City. She graduated and was invested as Cantor in 1985. Cantor Margulis believes that "music is intimately connected with prayer". She says that "throughout Jewish history, our people have expressed their deepest feelings via music. Music gives voice to the soul's passions and we encourage participation at the Kehillah".

In addition to her participation in our services, Cantor Margulis conducts our Adult and Junior Choirs, oversees our music program, tutors our B'nai Mitzvah students and teaches Hebrew. She is also on the Board of the American Conference of Cantors.

Cantor Margulis has been at the Kehillah for 18 years, and lives in Roswell with her husband David and their children.
